Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday made a massive revelation claiming that BJP officered him a 'deal to spare' his ministers including deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Satyender Jain. Both Manish Sisodia and Satyender Jain are currently under investigation by the Central agencies. While Satyender Jain is already in Jail, Manish Sisodia has been summoned multiple times by the central investigative agencies in the alleged Delhi Excise Policy Scam.
Speaking at NDTV's Townhall, Kejriwal alleged that he was offered the deal by the BJP on the condition that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) must pull out of next month's Gujarat elections. The Delhi Chief Minister further stated that after Manish Sisodia rejected BJP's offer to be Delhi CM, he is being approached by the saffron party. "After Manish Sisodia rejected their offer to be Delhi Chief Minister by leaving AAP, they have approached me now... they have said if you leave Gujarat and don't contest there, we will spare both Satyendar Jain and Sisodia and drop all charges against them," said Arvind Kejriwal.
Asked who made the offer, Kejriwal said, "How can I name one of my own... the offer has come through them... see they (BJP) never approach directly. They go from one to another, to another, to another, to a friend, and then the message reaches you."
It is pertinent to mention here that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been accusing the BJP of poaching its MPs and MLAs for the past few months. In fact, an FIR has also been lodged against the BJP in Punjab for running operation lotus in the state. Notably, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann had called a special Vidhan Sabha session to discuss matters, however, ended up passing a confidence motion in favour of them as an after-effect of the alleged operation lotus in Punjab.
