As a part of its ongoing probe into the Delhi Excise Policy Scam, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has now reached Punjab.
Reportedly, the Enforcement Directorate has conducted raids at the residence of 2 big officers of the Excise Department. Firstly, the raid was conducted at Excise Officer Naresh Dubey’s residence and then Excise Commissioner Varun Roojam became the victim of the same.
Do these raids point towards the fact that Punjab has now become the target of the Enforcement Directorate?
The opposition has always stated that the Central Government has been targeting those states which are not under their rule. The raids conducted on 6th September were about the Delhi Policy Excise Scam whose main accused is Manish Sisodia.
Reportedly, both the officers were also present in the meeting at Manish Sisodia’s residence when decisions related to Punjab Excise Policy were being taken.
Both the officers on which the raids were conducted by the ED were in close alliance with the AAP government. After the raids, many questions sprung up.
Firstly, whether there are any flaws in the Punjab Excise Policy? The second question that comes up is whether any money laundering aspect is involved in the case or not.
The news that is coming up now is many other officials are also on the radar of the Enforcement Directorate. The time will only tell whether other officers apart from these two will also come under any raid or not.
