The Government of Delhi has ordered an inquiry on fire incident occured in the Arpit Palace hotel at Karol Bagh in which 17 people have died. Fire inspection of buildings has been ordered by the AAP government in the area.
According to the officials, the incident took place at around 04:35 hrs and around 25 people have been evacuated safely from the spot.
Twenty fire tenders were pushed into service and the blaze was put to a stop around 08:30 hours, while the rescue operation by the police was still underway.
The officials stated that most of the deaths were due to suffocation, some people were seen jumping off the terrace and windows.
However, the cause of the fire is to be discovered yet.
