A Delhi resident named Dharmendra Singh Herman has been held by the Delhi police for inciting the crowd to hoist the Nishan Sahab flag on the historic Red Fort monument during the farmer's tractor march on Republic Day.
Herman was caught by the Special Investigation Team of Delhi Police Crime Branch investigating the R-Day riots after they received footage where the man was seen sitting on top of a car, provoking the protesters to hoist the Sikh flag on the Red Fort monument.
According to the police, Dharmendra Singh has been visiting the farmers’ protest site at the Singhu border for two months and he had also live-streamed the red Fort event on his Facebook account. Dharmendra is also associated with Akhil Bhartiya Parivar Party, informed the police.
On Wednesday, the police have announced a reward of 1 lakh rupees for the information of Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu who has been accused by the protesting farmers of instigating violence and deviating from the otherwise peaceful rally.
The Delhi police have so far identified 12 suspects after reviewing the security footage of the incident and on Monday, their photographs were released. Delhi police have sought help from the public and media people to share any images, photos or information relating to the R-Day violence.
Thousands of protesting farmers had clashed with the police attacking them with lathis and swords during the tractor rally on Republic day which was called by farmer unions to highlight their demand for the repeal of the Centre’s three farm laws.

A group of protesters deviated from the pre-planned routes for the tractor rally and hoisted the religious flag on the domes of Red Fort on January 26.
