Delhi police make public appeal, asks people to share videos, pictures, info about R-Day violence

So far a total of 33 FIRs have been registered by the Delhi Police in connection with January 26 violence.

The Delhi Police on Friday issued an appeal to the general public as well as the media who were witness to the Republic Day violence to come forward and share pictures, videos and any information with them. The appeal has been made by BK Singh, Joint CP/Crime.

The Delhi Police issued a set of mobile and telephone numbers where the pictures and videos can be shared. An email id has also been created for this purpose, the police appeal stated.

"On 26th January, the protesting farmers had taken out a tractor rally and had indulged in violence in Delhi. All members of the public, including media persons, who are witnesses to the incidents or have any information about the incident or have captured any activity on their mobile phones or camera, are hereby requested to come forward and give their statements/footage/picture in their possession at room number 215, second floor, Old Delhi Police Headquarters, ITO during office hours, on any working day or contact on 8750871237 or 011-23490094 or send e-mail on kisanandolanriots. 26jain2021@gmmail.com," the appeal stated.


The police assured that the identity of the witness will be kept secret. 

Meanwhile, a total of 33 FIRs has been registered by the Delhi Police in connection with the Republic Day violence in which over 30 farmers' leader has been named and have also been sent a notice asking them on why they should not face legal action for breaking the tractor rally agreement.

On Thursday, the Delhi Police said its special cell will investigate the angle of "conspiracy" and "criminal designs" behind the violence on January 26, claiming that the violence was well-coordinated and pre-planned. 

Nearly 400 police personnel were injured in the violence in Delhi on Tuesday that brought a national shame.
