The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted raids in many cities of India including Chandigarh, Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, and Bengaluru in connection with a ticketing fraud involving tickets for upcoming concerts by renowned Punjabi singer and Bollywood actor, Diljit Dosanjh, and British band Coldplay. These raids aim to investigate the unauthorized sales of tickets at inflated prices, a practice that has led to several FIRs being filed in various locations. ED has also seized various significant documents during the raids and has shed light on the extent of the alleged fraud.

According to the reports, the ticket prices were manipulated to make illegal profits, causing inconvenience to fans who were unable to purchase tickets at the official rates. The ED’s investigation marks a significant intervention and the teams have been dispatched to multiple states as the probe expands.

ED has shared about the ticket scam on its official X handle and wrote, “ED, New Delhi has conducts search operations on 25/10/2024 in Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Bangalore in relation to illegal sale of tickets of Coldplay and Diljeet Dosanjh’s Dilluminati concerts. During the search operations, several incriminating materials such as Mobile phones, laptops, sim cards etc. used in the scam were recovered and seized.”

Diljit Dosanjh is currently in India for his much-anticipated “Dil-Luminati” tour which is scheduled to take place across 12 cities. He has begun his tour by visiting the Shri Bangla Sahib Gurudwara in Delhi on Saturday morning. His largest concert is all set to take place today at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, where the tickets are reportedly sold out within few hours. The excitement around his India tour has led to one female fan sending a legal notice to Diljit over alleged ticketing issues and the inability to secure tickets due to inflated resale prices.

The ED’s action highlights efforts to curb the unlawful practices in the event ticketing, ensuring that fans can access genuine tickets at the official rates.
