The Social Center School of Delhi University, established 77 years ago, hosted a Teacher's Day event in its auditorium. The Chief Guest, R.N. Sharma, Senior IAS and Director of Education for the Delhi Government, honored the teachers and staff, stating that teachers are a vital asset to any society and deserve the highest respect. He emphasized the crucial role of teachers in the development of nations and societies. Sharma also commended the Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, Prof. Yogesh, for his dedication to the development projects at the school.
During the event, Sharma addressed the assembly regarding the school's request for senior secondary affiliation and assured that the Directorate of Education is committed to supporting all aspects of the school's development. He expressed his duty towards this cause. Reflecting on his own student life at Delhi University, Sharma shared personal memories, describing the buildings, teachers, and staff as family, and expressed his emotional connection to the campus. He also engaged with students and parents, assuring them of solutions to their issues. After the program, Sharma inspected the construction of the school's new building and reviewed the progress.
Dr. Pushpendra Singh, Director of the Udhyamoday Foundation and a distinguished guest, wished all teachers well and recalled his student days, highlighting how a good teacher can transform a student's life. He praised Chairman Prof. Hemendra Dangi and Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh for their exceptional teaching, recalling how they effortlessly resolved his queries related to computer science and management, leaving a lasting impression.
The event was also attended by Delhi University's Dean of Student Welfare, Prof. Ranjan Tripathi, Prof. V.S. Negi, Chairman Prof. Hemendra Dangi, Dr. Manju Gupta, and Director of Education North Zone, Dr. Neelima, among other dignitaries. Dr. Garima Bharti, Vice Principal of the school, expressed gratitude during the vote of thanks, particularly for the Director of Education's positive stance on the senior secondary affiliation. All speakers, including the Chief Guest, praised Dr. Garima Bharti for her dedication to the school. The program was organized by Dr. Prabhanshu Ojha, Manager of the school and Assistant Professor at Hansraj College.
