The dead body of officer has been recovered from the Chand Bagh area of northeast Delhi which is gripped in the violent clashes between pro-CAA and anti-CAA groups since Sunday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Ankit Sharma, a resident of Khajuri Khas locality of northeast Delhi. The officer's body was found in a drain in Northeast Delhi's Chand Bagh on Wednesday morning.

Ankit Sharma is believed to have died of a bullet injury and his body bore injury marks of severe beatings too. In 2017, the officer had joined the Intelligence Bureau and was training as a driver.
The deceased had been missing since Tuesday evening. His father, Ravinder Sharma, is also working in the IB.
Chand Bagh is among one of the affected areas that has been hit heavily with violence after clashes between groups supporting and opposing controversial newly amended Citizenship Act (CAA) erupted on Sunday evening. So far, nearly 20 people--including a police constable have been killed and more than 180 others have been injured badly during the violence.
On Tuesday night, the Delhi violence forced the police to impose curfew in the affected areas.
