The Delhi zoo, also known as the National Zoological Park is going to open its entries today after 3 months, they have planned to make it a 2 shift plan which will be 4 hours each. To commence with they are planning to open up the visit of only 3,000 visitors at a time, providing 1,500 slots each in one shift.

The visitors also have the chance to book the entry tickets through the QR code which is displayed at the entrance. The cost of the tickets will be INR 40 for adults, INR 20 for children, and INR 100 for foreigners. The morning shift will be from 8 am to 12 noon, and then there will be a break of one hour, after which the second shift will start from 1 pm to 5 pm.
The main reason for keeping a break in between shifts is for disinfecting and sanitizing the zoo. Prior to this, the zoo was first opened on April 1, but only after 2 weeks, it had to be shut down because the second wave had hit India.
In January, the zoo was not able to open up because of the first case of bird flu and after the test dropped negative they thought of reopening the Zoological Park. Prior to the lockdown, the zoo was updated and had added new birds as well as animal species, increasing the count from 83 to 88. Currently, the total number of species is over 99.
