Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been granted two-day parole to meet his ailing mother, a senior prison official said.
The development came a day after Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is undergoing a 20-year jail sentence for raping two followers, sought parole of 21 days to look after his mother in Gurugram.
Although no official statement has been received from Haryana Police and Sirsa district administration in this regard, the sources say that Ram Rahim accompanied by heavy police force has reached his Gurugram Farm House, to see his ailing mother.
A senior police official on condition of anonymity informed that he has been given a parole as every prisoner has a right to seek parole in case of family emergency. The police and administration after measuring all the pros and cons, have decided to grant him parole, and there would be threat to law and order situation.

Meanwhile, this is the second time Dera Sacha Sauda chief has been given a day-long parole. Earlier, on October 24, 2020, he was give parole for the same reason i.e. to meet his mother, who was admitted in a Gurugram hospital.
