Every year, India observes Police Commemoration Day on October 21 to remember and honor brave policemen who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
Today, Punjab Director General of Police Dinkar Gupta visited PAP stadium, Jalandhar to pay tribute to the bravehearts who have laid down their lives to safeguard the nation. While paying homage to the martyred police personnel, he said that October 21 is celebrated all over India as Police Commemoration Day. On this day, we all pay homage to those police personnel who did not care for their lives and jumped into the battle against riots, terrorism, border tensions, etc to maintain peace and harmony in society.
DGP Gupta said, "I salute the sacrifices made by these police personnel for their nation."
"I am proud of Punjab Police. The force has established itself not only in the country but in the world as a kind whose bravery is appreciated by all," DGP said.

In addition to this, DGP Gupta boosted the morale of police personnel gathered to pay homage to their fellow members and has asked them to perform their duties diligently, uprightly, and sincerely. He added that Punjab Police has fought the battle on every front, they should maintain the precedent set by the martyred personnel.
He also planted a sapling in the PAP complex in memory of the martyred police personnel. On this occasion, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, DCP Investigation Gurmeet Singh also paid tributes to the martyred jawans.
