South actor Dhanush and wife Aishwarya announced separation after their 18 years of happy relationship. Dhanush married Aishwarya in 2004. On January 17, both of them shared a post on their social media accounts about getting separated. Aishwarya is the eldest daughter of Rajinikanth. She is a film director and playback singer.


Taking to his social media account, Dhanush shared a post and officially announced their separation. The actor wrote, " 18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate. Aishwarya and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do Respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this."




The duo had a beautiful journey of 18 years together. The couple met for the first time in a theatre for the film 'Kadhal Konde'. There the theatre owner introduced Aishwarya and Soundarya to Dhanush. After the meet, Aishwarya sent flowers at Dhanush's residence and asked him to stay in touch.

After this, the duo dated each other for two years. Soon they started getting the attention of the media but Rajinikanth's family didn't want anything to be written against their daughters. So they finally decided to get the duo married.  The marriage was very grand. The duo got married in 2004. In 2006, they welcomed their first son, Yatra and second in 2010 named Linga.




After 18 years of relationship, the couple announced their separation last night on social media.
