Digital banking services of SBI to remain affected today, know why?

The State Bank of India has announced that its digital services will be affected from the night of May 7. The customers will be unable to use SBI’s digital services on Friday due to maintenance activities.

The bank announced the same via social media platform on May 6. SBI tweeted, “We will undertake maintenance activities between 22:15 hrs on May 7, 2021, and 1:45 hrs on May 8, 2021. During this period INB/YONO/YONO Lite/UPI services will be unavailable. We regret the inconvenience caused and request you to bear with us.”

State Bank of India also said, “We request our esteemed customers to bear with us as we strive to provide a better banking experience.”

The bank has also asked customers to update KYC details before May 31 from their homes via mail or postal services to avoid partial freezing of the account. The decision was taken as several states have imposed semi-lockdown or lockdown type measures to prevent Covid19 spread.

The bank has the largest network with over 22,000 branches with more than 57,889 ATMs across the country. It has more than 85 million internet banking and 19 million mobile banking users. In December end, SBI claimed 135 million UPI users.

SBI has recently reduced its home loan interest rates to 6.70% for loans up to 30 lakh. The interest rate of 6.95% has been fixed for loans above Rs 30 lakh up to Rs. 75 lakh and for home loans above 75 lakh the SBI home loan interest rate will start from 7.05%.
