Diljit Dosanjh's Dil-Luminati India Tour is in its final phases, but multiple controversies have marred the Punjabi singer & actor's live concerts. Diljit Dosanjh will conclude his Dil-Luminati Concerts in India in the remaining two cities i..e Chandigarh and Guwahati. Diljit Dosanjh's Chandigarh Concert will take place on December 14, 2024, at Sector 34 Exhibition Ground. However, troubles are mounting on the venue as a delegation of the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal has demanded to shift the place of the concert.
In the meanwhile, just days before his Chandigarh Concert, Diljit has been facing Telangana-type controversy yet again. Chandigarh Child Rights Protection Commission has issued an advisory before Diljit's concert in Chandigarh on December 14. The commission has instructed the concert organizers and Diljit not to sing songs like Patiala Peg, 5 Tara Theke and Case even by changing their lyrics. It has also instructed not to call small children on stage.
Child Rights Body's advisory on Diljit Dosanjh's Chandigarh Concert
The Child Rights Body's advisory can be sum up in three major points-
- According to the World Health Organization report, adults should not be exposed to more than 140 dB sound pressure levels. For children, this level has been reduced to 120 db. In such a situation, it is advisable not to call children on stage during live shows.
- The commission has instructed him to avoid singing songs like Patiala Peg, 5 Tara, Case etc. even by distorting them. Because words promoting alcohol, drugs, and violence are used in them. These songs affect children of sensitive age.
- The organizers have been told not to give alcohol to youth below 25 years of age.
As per reports, Assistant Professor Panditrao of Chandigarh had given a complaint to the Telangana government against singer Diljit Dosanjh. Following this, District Child Welfare Officer, Telangana also issued a notice not to call children on the stage and not to sing songs promoting alcohol, drugs, and violence.
Singer Diljit Dosanjh followed the notice and did not call children onto the stage, although he sang songs named Patiala Peg, 5 Tara Thike, and Case by distorting the words.
What did Diljit say to Telangana Govt's legal notice?
During his live concert in Ahmedabad, Diljit had addressed the legal notice or advisory that banned him from singing songs on liquor. Diljit had said, "I won't even sing those songs. It's easy for me to tweak the songs, bro. Also, I don’t consume alcohol myself. Bollywood celebrities promote alcohol in advertisements, but I don’t. Don’t poke me. I quietly do my program and leave."
He went on to talk about states shutting all the shops during the pandemic, except liquor shops. Diljit added, "During COVID, everything was closed except liquor shops. You can’t fool the youth. If not a complete ban, then at least declare a dry day in your state on the day of my performance, and I will refrain from singing any alcohol-related song."
