Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh turned 37 years old on Wednesday. Born on 6 January 1984 in Dosanjh Kalan village, Jalandhar Punjab, Diljit Dosanjh's real name is Daljit. Father Balbir Singh was an employee of Punjab Roadways while mother Sukhwinder was a homemaker.
The financial condition of Diljit's family was not so well. Diljit was not extra-ordinary at studies therefore the actor's interest in singing increased. He stayed in Ludhiana and studied till the tenth standard. Took training in Indian classical music at local gurdwaras and started performing kirtan.
Everyone liked Diljit's voice while doing kirtan, people started encouraging him to sing outside. After the gurudwara, Diljit started singing in wedding ceremonies.
Entry in Bollywood from 'Udta Punjab'
In 2004, Daljit released his debut album 'Ishq Da Udana Adda'. During this, he changed his name from Daljeet to Diljit.
In 2011, Diljit made his debut with from the film The Lion of Punjab. However, the film flopped but one of his songs was a super hit and for the first time the song reached the top in the BBC's Asian Download Chat (Non-Bollywood).
In 2016, he entered Bollywood from the film 'Udta Punjab'. He then starred in Phillauri, Soorma, Arjun Patiala, Good News, and Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari. During the lockdown, he released his music album 'G.O.A.T.'

About Diljit it is said that he is the first Sardar who has started working in Bollywood without leaving his identity. People used to advise him that he would not get any role due to the turban. On this, he says that even if he finds no roll, he will not take off the turban.
