Punjabi singer & actor Diljit Dosanjh broke the internet once again when he came up with a challenge for an Indian anchor criticising him for singing songs on liquor. During the Dil-Luminati Concert in Lucknow on November 22, 2024, Diljit Dosanjh also called out the TV anchor for his double standard and outlined how most Indian movies mention alcohol. The Punjabi singer also slammed the anchor and listed out his songs that do not mention alcohol but still are super hits.

What did Diljit Dosanjh say on the Indian Anchor?

During the Lucknow Concert, Diljit said, "From the past many days, talks are going on about Diljit vs This, Diljit vs That. I want to clarify that there is Diljit vs Nothing. I love everyone. I don't have a competition with anyone else. I love everyone. Since the day I started my India Tour, whether it was Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad, or Ahmedabad, people have been very nice. Even today, I came to Lucknow and I am feeling very good. Thank you guys."

"There is an anchor on TV, I want to talk about him. A few days ago, he was giving me a challenge that Diljit make your song a hit that does not mention alcohol. For your kind information sir, Born To Shine, Lover, Kinni Kinni, Naina, many songs of mine do not mention alcohol but still get streamed on Spotify than Patiala Peg. Therefore, your challenge is already useless," added Diljit.

Diljit further said, "I am not defending my songs or myself. I only want that if you want to apply censorship in my songs, then that censorship should also be applied in Indian movies. In Indian movies the more you showcase vulgarity (gandh) the more you get success. Tell me which actor has never done any scene with alcohol? So, if you want to apply censorship, apply it to everything. I will stop singing such songs from that day."

"An artist is a soft target for you. That's why you poke on singers. But, sir for your kind information, the movies that I have made one of them has also got a national award. So, our work is not cheap. It's very easy that we wrote alcohol is injurious to health and start singing songs about alcohol. It should not happen like this. It's like you are targeting a particular person. So, if you have spread this news, then it is called 'Fake News'. It is your ethical responsibility to not spread fake news. So, I challenge you to show true news."
