Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh is all set to perform in his hometown Ludhiana on New Year’s Eve on 31st December, Tuesday at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). The event is a part of Dosanjh’s popular ‘Dil-Luminati’ tour.

Addressing the media, Ludiana CP Chahal said that approximately 2,000 police personnel will be deployed during Diljit Dosanjh’s concert at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). The Commissioner revealed that an estimated 40,000 people are expected to attend the event.

Diljit’s concert has impacted local businesses, especially restaurants and clubs on New Year’s Eve. A manager of a prominent city club said, “We had numerous bookings for DJ parties and live bands, but many customers have now cancelled their reservations to attend the concert.”

However, today, on 27th December, Punjab is on a high alert as the meteorological department has issued warnings of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and hailstorms. A yellow alert has been issued for a total of 21 districts including Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar Sahib, Moga, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Barnala, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala, and Malerkotla.

According to the meteorological department, people should try to avoid going out in such weather. Light to moderate rainfall is likely to happen in some parts of the state from 27th December to 2nd January. People should avoid going near the trees or take shelter under them. They are advised to postpone the program of going out and avoid going near ponds and lakes as well.
