Diljit Dosanjh, the popular Punjabi singer and actor, has made history with his electrifying performance at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California, this weekend. Diljit, who is known for his catchy Punjabi songs and soulful ballads, became the first singer from Punjab to take the stage at Coachella.
The festival, which is held over two weekends, features some of the most popular South Asian performers, including Ali Sethi, a vocalist best known for his work on Pasoori. Diljit's performance, however, stole the show, as he wowed the audience with his unique blend of Punjabi folk music and modern beats.
Many South Asian fans gathered at the American music event to see him perform live, and a video shared by Diljit on Instagram of American DJ Diplo dancing to Diljit's live performance at the Sahara stage went viral on social media.

During his live performance, the actor-singer dressed in a black Kurta and Tamba, a traditional Punjabi attire for men. Coachella's official Twitter account also shared a video of Diljit's performance with their fans.
Diljit also gave a sneak peek of his Coachella backstage activities earlier today. In the photos, he was sporting a striking blue co-ord set with a black hat.
