Punjabi singer & actor Diljit Dosanjh on Friday announced that he is part of the upcoming movie Border 2 featuring Sunny Deol in the lead role. Diljit Dosanjh took to his official Instagram handle and shared a Border 2 teaser with Sonu Nigam singing Sandese Aatey Hain. Diljit on his Instagram handle wrote, "Pehli Goli Dushman Chalaega aur Akhri Goli Hum! Honoured to stand with such a powerful team and walk in the footsteps of our Soldiers!"
In the background of the video, Diljit can be heard saying, "Iss desh par uthne wali har nazar jhuk jati hai khauf se inn sarhadon par jab guru ke paas pehra detey hain (Every eye that looks towards this country bows down in fear... when we stand guard at these borders near the Guru.)"
Notably, actor Sunny Deol also shared Diljit Dosanjh's montage and welcomed him onto he project by calling him 'Fauji' (Soldier). "Welcoming Fauji @diljitdosanjh to the Battalion of #Border2" write Sunny Deol.
Before Diljit, Sunny Deol had also announced Varun Dhawan's entry in 'Border 2'. The post also revealed that the film is scheduled for release during the Republic Day weekend, January 23, 2026.
'Border 2' will be directed by Anurag Singh, who has previously helmed 'Kesari', 'Punjab 1984', 'Jatt & Juliet' and 'Dil Bole Hadippa!', among others. The film was announced on June 13, 2024, marking 27 years of 'Border'. It has been declared "India's biggest war film" by the makers.
Talking about Diljit, his stature as an actor has increased ever since his movie Chamkila was released on Netflix. Diljit was also seen in a supporting role in the movie Crew along with Kareena Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Tabu.
