John Abraham Starrer's thriller, ‘The Diplomat,’ has hit the theatres across the nation and had a perfect start. The film was released on March 14th, 2025, and just on the second day of the release, the film cracked its OTT deal. According to reports, after entertaining people at the theaters, the film will be streaming on ‘Netflix,’ and the satellite rights for the film have been sold to ‘Sony MAX.’

The Diplomat has been directed by Shivam Nair and produced by Bhushan Kumar, John Abraham, Krishan Kumar, Vipul D Shah, Rakesh Dang, Jatish Varma, Sameer Dixit, Rajesh Bahl and Ashwin Varde. The film will be written by Ritesh Shah.
The movie will be presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, JA Entertainment, and Wakaoo Films in association with Fortune Films. Sources claim that the film has been co-produced by Shiv Chanana, Rajat Bedi, and Minnakshi Das. Along with this, The Diplomat will be distributed pan-India by Panorama Studios.
The first look of the film was dropped by John Abraham, which showed him in a suit with a chevron mustache. The poster of the film also featured the actor in the same look with the line, “A true hero needs no weapons.”
While sharing it on his social media, John wrote, “Honoured to bring this story of courage and diplomacy to life. See you in theatres on March 7th” (as earlier the film was scheduled to be released on March 7th.
John Abraham has shared the details of this movie and some other upcoming projects on a podcast hosted by Ranveer Allahbadia. During the interaction, the actor wrote, “I want to make entertaining films and something in geopolitics because I am interested in that. My upcoming films, like Tehran and Diplomat, are outstanding. I want to package them in an interesting way and show it to the audience.”
