A notice has been issued under Foreign Exchange Management Act to Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan by the Enforcement Directorate, details awaited.

In 2011, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence had slapped charges under FEMA and Customs Act violation against Khan and his manager Maroof in connection with recovery of huge undeclared foreign currency from them at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport in New Delhi.

According to the official sources, on February 13, the DRI, which detained the duo from IGI airport with allegedly undeclared $1.24 lakh (nearly Rs 60 lakh) and some other instruments too in foreign currency, has completed its probe and sent the matter for adjudication which will be done by the Commissioner Customs (Airports), official sources had said.
