Mr. Chander Gaind, Commissioner, Patiala Division today paid obeisance at the historic religious places of the city on the occasion of New Year and prayed for their good health and prosperity besides maintaining of communal harmony in the new year.
Commissioner Mr. Gaind, who visited Gurdwara Sri Dukh Niwaran Sahib and Sri Kali Devi Mandir, was also blessed with Siropao and Prashad by the managements.
Mr. Chander Gaind said that during the year 2020, COVID-19 not only claimed many lives but also paralysed all the system. Due to the fact that the disease was really new and there was no cure for it, the entire humanity had to face great difficulty. He said that he has come today to pray for the well-being of all the people in the hope that in the new year the vaccination of COVID will be successful on all humanity.
Mr. Gaind wished the people a Happy New Year and said that every day brings a ray of new hope and optimism. We need more positive perceptions and ideas to move forward in life, so we should welcome the new year with the hope of coming out of difficult times.

Later accepting the best wishes of the New Year from the staff at the Divisional Commissioner's Office, Mr. Chandra Gaind urged all the staff to address the problems of the people during the new year diligently and dispose of the work pending due to COVID previous year.
