In a bizarre incident, a man allegedly chopped off his wife’s nose with a sharp weapon after a heated argument. The victim’s mother is also injured during the scuffle.
The incident occurred on July 11 at Aminabhavi village, 15km away from Dharwad. The couple has been identified as Umesh Gandgudari and Geetha.
Reportedly, the accused has picked up a fight with his wife who was staying at her mother Neelava’s house. Umesh was under the influence of alcohol and chopped off a part of his wife’s nose in a fit of rage. He also attacked his mother-in-law who was trying to protect her daughter.
According to the report, the woman had moved in with her mother after a fight with Umesh. However, it did not sit well with Umesh and he went to Geetha's maternal home and started arguing.

The horrific incident was reported to Dharwad rural police and victims were rushed to hospital. The accused, Umesh remains absconding. However, the police are trying to apprehend him at the earliest.
In another shocking incident, a 35-year-old woman has been booked for assaulting her 9-year-old daughter in Bengaluru. Allegedly, the woman has burnt the minor’s hand for going to the neighbor's house to play.
The incident occurred on July 5 after the victim was brought to the hospital for treatment.
