The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is putting its all into positioning the nation as the global leader in Artificial Intelligence, which is more commonly known as AI. It is worth noting that the nation has been ranked among the top five world leaders in the field of artificial intelligence competitiveness.
Recently, the Crown Prince and the deputy Prime Minister of Dubai - Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, announced the launch of “Dubai AI Week,” which is set to take place from April 21 to 25 at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai. The Crown Prince has termed the event a “platform to unlock the transformative potential of artificial intelligence.”
Furthermore, while addressing AI enthusiasts across the world, the Deputy Prime Minister was quoted as saying, “The festival is designed to cement Dubai’s position as a pioneer in the global digital economy, bringing together the brightest minds to explore and expand the commercial and economic possibilities of AI technology.”
How significant is the Dubai AI Festival?
According to the organizers, the event will allow the attendees to experience the convergence of artificial intelligence, blockchain, and decentralized systems, driving the progression of digital economies, technological innovation, and XR.
It is clearly a dynamic platform to boost collaborations and will act as a knowledge-sharing bridge between industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and tech enthusiasts all over the world. In 2017, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) became the first-ever nation to appoint a Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, showing its interest in and commitment towards AI and its involvement in high government proceedings.
Along with this move, the country launched an initiative named Smart Dubai, which aims to transform Dubai into the smartest and happiest city in the world. This initiative was launched under the Dubai Future Foundation. The vision of the initiative is backed by Artificial Intelligence.
