Moscow: The United States Geological Survey on Tuesday reported that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 has struck 65 kilometers (40 miles) southwest of Indonesia's Bogorawatu island.
The quake hit at a depth of 16.8 kilometers, according to USGS. There has been no immediate report of damage or casualties so far.
Indonesia is a part of the so-called Ring of Fire, an area in the Pacific Ocean where the most active tectonic plates are situated.
