Major earthquake tremors were felt in various parts of India including Delhi, Punjab, Kashmir, etc of a very high magnitude. The earthquake lasted for quite some time. Along with India, Pakistan and Afghanistan also reported an earthquake on Tuesday evening of magnitude 6.6.
Reportedly, the 5.5 magnitude earthquake shook almost whole of North India. A great sense of panic was created among the people. Adding to this, an earthquake measuring 4.3 on the richter scale hit Several districts of Rajasthan, including Jaipur, at around 10.30 pm on Tuesday.
India's National Centre for Seismology mapped it at 6.6 magnitude, and at 10.17.27 p.m. (IST) with the epicentre at 133 km south by south east of Fayzabad in northern Afghanistan. According to the US Geological Services, the 6.6 magnitude quake had an epicentre 40 km south by southeast of Afghanistan's Jurm. It occurred at a depth of nearly 190 km.
Various people from Delhi NCR, Punjab and Kashmir reported about the strong tremors felt on social media.
