The cricketing fraternity took time out to wish their fans as India and the rest of the world celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr, the auspicious occasion that marks the end of Ramadan. The auspicious occasion occurs after a month of fasting, prayer, and charitable efforts such as feeding the poor during Ramzan, the Muslim holy month.

Virat Kohli, India's captain, was one of the first cricketers to greet fans on the occasion, urging them to remain healthy and safe during such unprecedented times.



“In these unprecedented times, let the spirit of Eid bring love, peace, and joy to all. Eid Mubarak. Stay safe,” Kohli wrote on Twitter.



“#EidMubarak to all those who are celebrating Love, light and happiness to you. Please stay safe everyone,” wrote Dhawan.


 

Harbhajan Singh wrote, "Eid mubarak, stay safe".


Pakistan Cricket team skipper Babar azam wrote, "Eid Mubarak everyone,I hope you all have a great day".



 Tennis star Sania Mirza also greeted her fans on the occasion. " Eid Mubarak everyone," she tweeted with a hug emoji. "Let's spare a thought for the ppl suffering, the less fortunate in our prayers today.. May Allah ease their pain and heal the world," she added.

The celebrations are expected to be low-key due to the lockdown imposed in most parts of India during the Covid crisis.

Ramzan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and it is during this month that Muslims around the world fast from dawn to dusk. It began on April 14th.

The holy month comes to a close with Eid-ul-Fitr, which Muslims all over the world celebrate with great enthusiasm.
