In a tragic incident that occurred in Gazipur village, located within the Zirakpur region, a 70-year-old man met a fatal end while trying to remove a stray cow from his field. The unfortunate victim, identified as Swarup Singh, a resident of Gazipur Sania in Zirakpur, succumbed to his injuries during medical treatment. The incident transpired when a stray cow initiated damage to Swarup's field one Thursday morning. In an effort to resolve the situation, he resorted to using a rope to encircle the cow's neck. However, an unforeseen mishap occurred as his leg became entangled in the rope, prompting the cow to bolt in panic. Consequently, the cow dragged Swarup along a paved road for an approximate distance of 100 meters before compassionate passersby intervened to rescue him. Sadly, Swarup sustained severe head injuries during this distressing ordeal.
Following the incident, Swarup received immediate medical attention and was subsequently admitted to the civil hospital in Dhakoli. Despite the dedicated efforts of the medical team, he eventually succumbed to the injuries he had sustained. This incident shows a problem that happens often in Zirakpur – stray cows and other animals roaming around freely on the roads. Sadly, this isn't the first time such an incident has resulted in someone losing their life.
