An elderly Muslim man was assaulted in Loni, Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district on June 5. Reportedly, he was attacked while he was going to the mosque to offer prayers.
The attackers allegedly abducted Abdul Samad from an auto-rickshaw and dragged him to a deserted hut in a nearby forest area. There they shouted ‘Jai Shree Ram’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ and asked the Muslim man to do so, later they punched and beat him from the wooden sticks.
The accused said that the victim Samad was a Pakistani Spy.

The video of the incident, in which Samad is requesting the attackers, has been circulated on the internet.
In the video, one of the attackers was wearing a white full-sleeved t-shirt and blue sweatpants, he threatened Samad with a knife and forcibly chopped his bread.
In the video, two more men are also seen attacking Samad – one of them is seen in a black shirt and red trousers and another is wearing a light-blue t-shirt with grey trousers.

Traumatized Samad, who started crying while speaking, said, “I was on my way when I was offered a lift. Two more men then got inside (the auto-rickshaw) and told me to stay. Then they took me to a room and locked me up and thrashed me. They forced me to chant slogans... they took my mobile away... they got a knife and cut my beard.”
“They even showed me a video of other Muslims being attacked,” he added.

Police have arrested one of the attackers, identified as Parvesh Gujjar and an investigation is still going on to find other accused. A senior police officer from Loni said that required steps would be taken.
However, the statement of accused who has been arrested was yet not recorded.
