The research involved assessing IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes scores, along with input from platforms like Screen Rant and Time Out, to compile a list of the 50 "best" Christmas movies. The focus then shifted to the top 18 films with the highest search volume over the past year.
In the nationwide results, "Elf," featuring Will Ferrell, secured the coveted title of the top Christmas movie for 2023. Impressively, this festive favourite also dominated the preferences of seven states: Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Pennsylvania.
Trailing closely behind, "Four Christmases," "Love Actually," and "The Nightmare Before Christmas" claimed the top spot in five states each. Notably, "Die Hard" emerged as the most searched-for holiday film in four states, while titles such as "A Christmas Carol," "Serendipity," and "The Polar Express" each topped searches in three states, showcasing the diverse festive film preferences across the nation according to the company's comprehensive findings.
