In a major development, an encounter took place between Jalandhar Police and a gangster belonging to the Kaushal Choudhary gang in Jandiala. The gangster has been identified as Davinder Singh and he opened fire at Police when they reached the spot to nab him. For the unversed, Davinder had fired at a trader near Jalandhar Bus Stand recently. Following that the Police launched a probe. When the Police went to nab Davinder, he opened fire at them and in retaliatory firing, the gangster was shot by the cops.
A day earlier, Davinder Singh had shot at a travel agent in Delta Tower near the bus stand and demanded extortion from him. Davinder is linked to Haryana gangster Kaushal Choudhary. Davinder ran away from the spot after seeing the police. While retreating, he opened fire on the police. In response, the police also fired on him. In the firing, Davinder was shot in his leg and he fell. The police have seized his gun and bike. He has been admitted to a hospital and is currently undergoing treatment.
The Jalandhar encounter was carried out by the team led by CIA Staff Incharge Surinder Singh Kamboj. Jalandhar Commissioner of Police, Swapnil Sharma, has reportedly confirmed the encounter. The situation is being actively monitored by senior police officials present at the scene.
It is pertinent to mention here that after Davinder Singh's encounter, it is now 10th in succession.
A cop addressing the media said, "There is a person named Indrajit Singh who works in immigration in Delta Tower of Jalandhar. Then three unknown men fired at his SUV that was parked there. "

Kaushal is a gangster from Gurugram and was, before his arrest, the most wanted gangter in Delhi NCR with a price of 5 lakhs on his head. He is infamous for being incriminated for the killing of Congress leader Vikas Choudhary in 2019. He was arrested and put in Gurdaspur Jail. He is also associated with the Davinder Bambiha group.
