In another encounter today, which marks the ninth encounter in succession, 2 gangster were involved in a shootout that lasted nearly half an hour. One of them was injured. The encounter took place between the CIA staff and the gangster at a police blockade. The gangster reportedly fired 4 bullets. No police officers were injured. Happy and his accomplice were arrested on the spot. Shootout occurred at a police blockade. Two pistols and a bike were recovered from the gangsters’ possession.
The CIA staff got reports that the gangster were roaming in the area. In response the police imposed a blockade on the road from Gurudwara Beed Sahib to village Kasel in Tarn Taran. Two people riding on a bike were signaled to stop. They instead opened fire following which the police retaliated. No police officer was injured, however one of the miscreants was shot twice.
The police retaliated under the leadership of CIA chief Parbhjeet Singh, injuring one of the gangsters. He has been identified as Charanjit Singh a.k.a Happy shooter. Charanjit was responsible for injuring ASI Balwinder Singh in an attempted robbery at Village Dhotiya. His accomplice identified as Parminderdeep Singh, has been arrested for questioning.
