Event She Stem launched by Sweden India Nobel Memorial 2020 to celebrate Women in Science

The embassy of Sweden in India in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission has announced the event ‘She Stem: Women Leading the Way ‘– a celebration of women scientists and entrepreneurs in Sweden and India, on 7th December 2020, at 3 pm.

The event is open to all and totally free of charge. The main objective of She Stem is to honour the women who are making advancements in science and technology for global sustainability and are inspiring people all around the globe by being excellent role models and leaders and successfully pursuing their careers in the field of applied science.

Mr Klas Molin, Ambassador of Sweden to India spoke about the event “ We know already that women and girls generally do better in schools when given equal opportunities, What we also know is when their knowledge and perspectives, we get broader and often better solutions. With our Sweden-India Nobel Memorial event, She Stem: Women Leading The Way, we are celebrating women scientist and tech entrepreneurs and encouraging a discussion on the importance of STEM education of girls and women.” 

The opening of the event will take place with welcoming remarks by Darja Isaksson, Director General at Vinnova, Sweden’s Innovation Agency (TBC), and then Dr Beatrice Crona, Deputy Science Director at Stockholm Resilience Centre, will talk about sustainability science.

The panel discussion will follow after it with esteemed panellist and dialogue with students will be done thenceforth. Dr. Renu Swarup, secretary, Department of Biotechnology, will be specially addressed in the event too.
