The second wave of coronavirus is creating havoc all over the world. This time coronavirus is considered more infectious and dangerous as children are also getting infected in large numbers. The need for vaccines is also being felt due to the rapid increase in infections.
Earlier the children were asymptomatic, however, this time symptoms like nasal congestion, stomach pain, diarrhea, throat pain, fatigue and headache are visible.

According to the report by National Center for Disease Control, children under the age of 10 years constitute 4.42% of total corona patients. The age group of 11 to 19 years old constitutes 9.79% of the Covid infected population.

When will be the vaccine available for children?
Pfizer and Biotech have approved the vaccine for people above 16 years of age. However, there is no vaccine approved for children younger than 16. Yet, it is not certain when the vaccine will reach out to patients who are in need.
According to Dr. James Conway, “Vaccines for children between 12 and 15 years old are anticipated to arrive this summer. Children of age between 5 to 11 years will be vaccinated by the end of 2021 and vaccine for children 6 months to 4 years old will arrive in early 2022.
Precautions that should be taken for children
Having a get-together at your home with people who have not vaccinated yet can be dangerous for the children. Meanwhile having a little get-together with people who have taken vaccine shots is safe for everyone. Although the number should not exceed 10 people.
While traveling always keep your children wearing masks. Research prior to the trip will also be beneficial.
