On March 3, 2025, Monday (Indian Time), people will stick to their televisions to witness the 97th Academy Awards - Oscars. The ceremony will be hosted in Hollywood, California, United States. This time, as well, the 97th Academy Awards will be hosted at the Dolby Theatre, California, and will be handled by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. The authorities have been hosting the gala at the same venue since 2001. As many as 3,332 people can be welcomed in the auditorium.
Notably, the Oscars were first launched in 1929, and since then, it has been presented in dozens of venues, including The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, and the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
When is it happening?
The 97th Academy Awards is set to go live on Sunday, March 2, at around 7 pm ET, which is 4 pm PT. According to the Indian Standard Time (IST), the fans from India will be able to enjoy the ceremony on Monday, March 3, at 5:30 am. Expectedly, the show will run for around three and a half hours.

Nominees for 2025 Oscars!
The AMPAS will present Academy Awards in 23 categories. Out of the total, Emilia Perez was named under 13 nominations - which is record-breaking for a non-English language film.
Under the Best Picture nod, the Brazilian film “I’m Still Here” is the only non-English language film nominated in this category in 2025.
This season will be a bit unique as Karla Sofia Gascon is the first transgender woman to be nominated for an Oscar for Spanish-language music.
Other strong contenders include The Brutalist, a historical drama with 11 nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. Wicked, the movie adaptation of the popular musical, has earned 10 nominations, with stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande also recognized. Meanwhile, Conclave, a historical drama, and A Complete Unknown, a Bob Dylan biopic, have each received 9 nominations.
For India, Laapataa Ladies was nominated for 2025 for the Oscars.
