A heart-wrenching case has emerged from Punjab’s Amritsar,
where an excise department employee was lynched to death by sub-inspector’s son.
According to the preliminary findings, Antar Kahlon, son of sub-inspector Tejinder Singh has been found accused in the alleged lynching case. He along with his associates had beaten victim Avtar Singh, an employee of the Excise Department near Rajindra Palace on Tarn Taran Road.
After the alleged beating, when Avtar was rushed to the hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.
It has been learnt from the sources that Antar Kahlon had a personal enmity with Avtar Singh and he had even threatened to kill the latter in the past few days. The reason for rivalry determined that Avtar had procured illegal liquor from one of the aides of Antar Kahlon.
To take vengeance on him, Antar with his aides followed Avtar and in the midway they stopped him and started beating Avtar with an iron rod and a baseball bat.
However, Avtar was rescued from the group when his younger brother reached the spot of the incident after one of Avtar’s acquaintances called him up to inform him about his condition. When Hira Singh, the victim’s brother, made an attempt to shield Avtar he was also brutally attacked by the anguished group.

While Hira Singh has been admitted to the Civil Hospital, an autopsy was carried out of the victim’s dead body and has been handed over to the family.
Inspector Preneet Kumar of Sultanwind police station said that a case has been registered on the complaint of Manjit Singh, brother of the deceased.
DCP Parminder Singh Bhandal also informed that the matter is being investigated. The charges have been leveled against Antar Kahlon, the son of Sub Inspector Tejinder Singh, posted in the CIA staff.
