In such a situation, a new case can be registered against Dharamsot. Ahead of the elections, the Aam Aadmi Party has been demanding the dismissal of Dharamsot on this issue. During Captain Amarinder Singh's tenure, Dharamsot was the Social Security Minister of the state. There were allegations against him that there was rigging in distributing scholarships and no record was found for distributing Rs 39 crore.

This scam was investigated even during the time of Captain government. It was then claimed that Dharamsot had got a clean chit from the scam. However, later the officials said that no one has been given a clean chit. The government and the officials kept rounding up the whole matter. At that time, the Aam Aadmi Party continued to demand the dismissal of Dharamsot from the cabinet.
