Punjab Vigilance is in full action putting a gag on the high-profile corruption cases in the state that has drained people’s money. Among the major cases of corruption associated with the top Punjab administration in the state the 1000 crores scam in the Irrigation department remains at the fore.
The vigilance after an initial inquiry into the case has summoned the former minister yet again for further questioning.
Top sources in the Vigilance confirmed that the Bureau has asked the former Irrigation minister in the SAD-BJP alliance Janmeja Singh Sekhon again in the multi-crore irrigation department scam on December 30th.
Among other high-profile figures in the case which surfaced during Captain Amarinder Singh-led Congress government in the state, includes three former bureaucrats Sh. Sarvesh Kaushal, KBS Sidhu, KS Pannu, IAS (Retd.), and ex-minister SS Dhillon.
State Vigilance initiated the probe on the matter in October after CM Bhagwant Mann provided his nod in the matter which began with former bureaucrat Kahan Singh Pannu October 18th, who was serving as the department’s Principal Secretary at the time.

After the scam came to light, the pension, and allowances of the three IAS were stopped. With the approval of the CM for questioning, the file was sent to the Chief Secretary's office for further action.
