The Punjab community went berserk on social media after a video on Saturday went viral showing a woman roaming the streets in a disturbing condition. A farmer leader took to his official X handle and shared a video slamming the Bhagwant Mann government. The farmer leader reportedly outlined that girls of Punjab are falling prey to drug menace and strict actions need to be taken by the government and the Police. In the viral video, the woman in orange sweater barely seemed awake and was falling here and there. Hence, the farmer leader as well as netizens who watched the video thought that the Amritsar woman was under the influence of drugs. However, claims about Amritsar girl viral video are far from reality.
While talking to True Scoop News, a Senior Police Officer of Amritsar Rural Police informed that the woman was not under the influence of drugs. As per the officer, the woman shown in the video was under mental and physical duress. Furthermore, the senior Police officer informed that the woman is facing personal issues including a divorce from her husband. And hence, the woman is under mental duress. Not only this, the Police officer informed that the woman had injuries in her foot and hence she was taken to a hospital by the local Police.
Thereafter, Amritsar Rural Police took to their official X handle and shared a video fact-checking the claims. Amritsar Rural Police shared the video informing, "Amritsar Rural Police's swift response saves a life! Prompt action on a viral video showing a girl in a mentally & physically hurt condition not only led to her prompt admission to the hospital but also exemplifies the dedication to community well-being." In the video, Police were seen rescuing the girl from the streets and taking her to a hospital. As per the information received, the woman's mother has also refuted drug claims.
