Today marks the 12th day of the farmers’ protest. There have been several clashes between the farmers and police during the ‘Dilli Chalo’ movement. During the protest, several videos of the movement are going viral on social media. But several of the posts have been captioned with false statements, leading to wide spreading of fake news. One such video was gaining rapid traction on social media in which it seems that farmers are paying people to sit in the protest. But is it true? Here are the facts.
Recently a video was seen going viral on Social Media portraying a couple of farmers negotiating prices over a matter. Several verified and non-verified users had reposted the video with captions claiming it to be an instance from the ongoing protest. They claimed that farmers are being persuaded to join the protests by paying them money.
In the video, negotiations can be seen taking place allegedly over the amount of money being offered to join the protest. It is being claimed that Rs 35,000 per person is being given to join the movement. But in the video the person is saying that Rs. 40,000 should be given which leads to a conflict.
