India is all set to undergo Lok Sabha Elections in the year 2024 with the Prime Ministerial post up for grabs for the political parties of India. The BJP-led NDA will take on the opposition alliance named I.N.D.I.A in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. While the political parties are in their final stages of preparing campaign strategies, a picture with the Election Commission of India (ECI) logo went viral on social media which contained the Lok Sabha Election 2024 date. 

 

As per the viral picture, the General Election 2024 date is on March 19, 2024. Meaning, voting for Lok Sabha Election 2024 will take place on March 19, 2024, and cunting of votes will take place on 22nd April 2024. However, the Election Commission of India took to its X-handle and debunked the General Election 2024 date. 

 

ECI on X wrote, "A fake message is being shared on Whats app regarding schedule for #LokSabhaElections2024 #FactCheck: The message is #Fake. No dates have been announced so far by #ECI. Election Schedule is announced by the Commission through a press conference."

 

ECI to announce Lok Sabha Election Date on March 13

 

The Election Commission of India is expected to announce the schedule for Lok Sabha elections 2024 after March 13. As per reports, the teams of the Election Commission are out on the ground, assessing the election preparedness of various states, and will conclude the exercise likely by March 13. In the meantime, ECI officials are engaging in frequent meetings with Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) from different states to address potential issues ahead of the elections. The discussions are focused on practical challenges such as the transportation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), the need for security personnel, and monitoring activities along state borders.
