Elections in West Bengal have been controversial because of aggressive campaigning and verbal war between Mamata Banerjee and PM Narendra Modi. This time, a video regarding the voting in West Bengal elections has gone viral on social media.
In the video, a woman polling agent is seen influencing women voters who have come to cast vote. The lady in the video holds the hand of the voter and casts vote on EVM. This video is said to be of the 2021 West Bengal elections, claiming Mamata Banerjee’s activists are getting fake voting done and are blamed for forgery.

Users have tweeted the video and asked the Election commission to take action, “Will the Election Commission give any clarification on this?”
After cross-checking, it was revealed that that the video was not of the 2021 Bengal elections, and in fact, was recorded in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The incident took place during the 6th phase of the West Bengal Lok Sabha elections.
The video had gone viral in May 2019, after which the election commission had to take action. Now, it again resurfaced on the internet claiming forgery in West Bengal elections.
Meanwhile, the results of 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections is expected to be announced on May 2. This time the battle of Bengal is between TMC and BJP.
