'Fake restaurants' of Chandigarh listed on Zomato offering just ONE dish; Users seek investigation

A user on X shared screenshots of restaurants in Chandigarh and termed them 'fake restaurants' that are suspiciously selling only one dish or drink with an unheard name.

Chandigarh Fake Restaurants, Chandigarh One Dish Restaurants, Chandigarh Restaurants Zomato, Zomato Chandigarh One Dish Restaurants: India's top online food delivery app Zomato has come under the scanner of social media after a user flagged 'shady restaurants' on the platform. A user on X shared screenshots of restaurants in Chandigarh and termed them 'fake restaurants'. 

The user named Nitish Anand tagged Zomato and Chandigarh Police outlining the shady nature of multiple restaurants on the only food delivery app. The user further highlighted the shady restaurants not only selling only one dish or drink at high prices but also have no description related to it. 

The user shared the post on X and wrote, "What’s going on with Zomato in Chandigarh? Fake ‘restaurants’ offering just ONE dish at absurd prices, with nonexistent addresses.  Something really shady is cooking on @zomato @DgpChdPolice Anyone else noticed this?"

Chandigarh 'Fake' Restaurants on Zomato

As per the shared screenshots, one restaurant is named Desi Chinese in the Nayagaon area. The eatery sells 'Naughty Strawberry' at Rs 999. Another restaurant is named Butter Chicken Factory in the Nayagaon area and it sells 'Blue Adventure' at Rs 1205. One more restaurant is named 'Buzz Burger' and it sells Kiwi Delight Mojito at Rs 1305. One more restaurant is named 'Biryani Hi Biryani' in the Nayagaon area and it sells 'Citrus Punch' at Rs 1485. 

What did netizens allege about Chandigarh's shady restaurants?

Reacting to it, a user wrote, "Nayagaon is a place known for drug activities."

Nitish then wrote, "I tried ordering from one of the restaurants. After quite a long wait, the order was rejected and my money was refunded. The restaurant also stopped accepting orders after that - very very sus."

One more user wrote, "@deepigoyal needs to be arrested. You never know, Zomato might be dealing in drugs and food delivery might just be a front!"
