In a dramatic turn of events ahead of farmers' hunger strike, farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal was taken into custody by the police. After Jagjit Singh Dallewal was detained and taken to an unknown location by the Police officials, farmer leader Sarwan Pandher alleged that the Police officials who detained Dallewal were speaking Hindi hinting that they were not Punjab Police officials.

However, it has been revealed that Jagjit Singh Dallewal was not detained by the Haryana Police but by the Punjab Police. As per the information received, Punjab Police detained Dallewal and brought him to DMC Hospital in Ludhiana. Police have been deployed all around the hospital and it has been sealed so that no one can reach him.

What did farmer leader Sarwan Pandher say?

Earlier, farmer leader Sarwan Pandher said that Dallewal was picked up from Khanauri border at around 2 o'clock on Monday night. It is not known where he has been taken. Many of the policemen who picked up Dallewal were speaking Hindi.

Dallewal has been picked up from CM Bhagwant Mann's jurisdiction, so the Punjab government will have to clarify its position towards the farmers. "They will have to tell where he has been taken. Otherwise, serious consequences will have to be faced," said Pandher.

As per Dainik Bhasker, Patiala Range DIG Mandeep Singh Sidhu said that Dallewal had announced a hunger strike. The administration was worried due to his age and health. After the announcement of the hunger strike, there is a crowd, due to which health facilities are not available. For this reason, the administration decided to get him medically examined. For this, he has been brought to Ludhiana DMC.

Dallewal is said to be 68 years old.

Farmers Hungers Strike

Farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohad said that the hunger strike will definitely begin. Earlier it was also decided that if something happened to Jagjit Dallewal, the next farmer leader would sit on strike. Now if one farmer leader does not sit on hunger strike, other farmer leaders will sit on hunger strike in his place. Soon the farmer organizations will meet and decide who will sit on fast unto death.

Dallewal had announced on November 4 that he would sit on hunger strike as soon as the Parliament session begins. After this, the farmers will march to Delhi on December 6. A day before, on Monday, Jagjit Singh Dallewal held a press conference in Faridkot and said that he is going to sit on fast unto death with a shroud tied on his head. The central government will have to fulfill his demands or else he will sacrifice his life. The movement will not stop even with his death. After his death, other leaders will start a fast unto death.

Therefore, he has got his land registered in the name of his son, daughter-in-law, and grandson, so that there is no dispute. Under the awareness campaign, farmers' organizations are going door-to-door to gather support and inform people about their demands.

Farmers to go Delhi without tractors and trolleys

Meanwhile, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher had announced on November 18 that farmers will march to Delhi on December 6. He had said that farmers have been silent for 9 months, but we are being ignored by the governments. For this reason, we have decided to go to Delhi.

This time farmers will march on foot instead of tractors and trolleys. Farmers from Punjab, Haryana, and other states will participate in this. The government has 10 days.

Farmers-government meeting remained inconclusive

The committee formed by the Supreme Court and the farmer leaders had a meeting in Chandigarh on November 4. The meeting was chaired by retired Justice Nawab Singh. Farmer leaders Sarwan Singh Pandher and Jagjit Singh Dallewal, the main faces of the farmers' movement, did not attend the meeting.

Pandher had refused to come to the meeting, while Dallewal had cited ill health. Members of Dallewal's organization attended the meeting. The farmers placed their 12 demands before the committee formed by the Supreme Court. The farmers clearly said that their protest will continue until their demands are met.
