Farmers call for Punjab bandh tomorrow: govt bus services to halt for 4 hours, 577 routes & 7 states to get affected

Union chairman Baljinder Singh Rath and president Resham Singh said that farmers have called for Punjab bandh from 7 am to 4 pm but a full-day strike is not possible as we don't want to disturb people.

In support of the ongoing farmers' agitation over 13 demands, farmers have decided to keep Punjab closed on December 30. These demands include legal guarantee of MSP of crops. Employees of Panbus PRTC Workers Union have also decided to participate in this demonstration.

On this day, government buses will not run for about four hours in the entire state. Buses will not run on the road from 10 am to 2 pm.

A meeting of the union has been held regarding the Punjab bandh. In this, a strategy has been made regarding this struggle. Meanwhile, union chairman Baljinder Singh Rath and president Resham Singh said that farmers have called for Punjab bandh from 7 am to 4 pm. However, a full-day strike is not possible as we don't want to disturb people. Due to this, it has been decided to jam the buses from 10 am to 2 pm.

PRTC runs buses on 577 routes in Punjab and other states. These buses cover Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. PRTC has nine depots including Patiala, Bathinda, Kapurthala, Barnala, Sangrur, Budhlada, Faridkot, Ludhiana and Chandigarh.

In total, more than three thousand employees are working in this department. At the same time, it was also decided in the meeting held on the Punjab bandh that by 29th December, the conductors will inform people about the bandh before issuing tickets so that people traveling in buses can get to know about it in advance.
