Haryana Police lobbed tear gas at the protesting farmers on the Shambu border to prevent their entry into the state. The farmers are proceeding to Delhi following the failed talks at Chandigarh meeting and plan to travel through Ambala-Shambhu, Kahnauri-Jind and Dabwali borders. This comes as no surprise however as the police had been conducting mock drills with the tear gas on Monday.
Many farmers started their march to Delhi at around 10 AM today from Fatehgarh Sahib following the inconclusive meeting at Chandigarh. They were moving towards Delhi via the Shambhu border when upon their arrival, the police were quick to lob tear gas in order to disperse the farmers. Farmers from south Malwa districts of Fazilka, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Moga, Muktsar, Bathinda and Mansa, left in groups to gather near Shambhu and Khanauri.
