India's cricketing legend and world-cup winning captain Kapil Dev has broken his silence on the ongoing controversy between the farmers and the Modi government. While most of the cricketers joined the social media trends #IndiaTogether and #IndiaAgainstPropaganda and requested the people of India to stand united against external forces, Kapil did not utter a single word.
However, there were some cricketers who did not follow the trend and criticized the government on the farmer's protest that includes Sunrisers Hyderabad bowler Sandeep Sharma and batsman Manoj Tiwari.
Now, Kapil Dev has broken his silence and said that he wishes the issues between the government and the farmers to resolve as soon as possible. Kapil also wished the Indian Cricket team on the series against England which has started at the Chepauk stadium in Chennai.
Kapil wrote, "I simply love India, I wish the tiff between Farmers and Govt gets resolved ASAP. Let the experts take a call. One thing for sure India is supreme. ALSO I WISH MY INDIAN CRICKET TEAM A GRAND SUCCESS IN THE UPCOMING SERIES AGAINST ENGLAND Jai Hind"
However, Kapil's delay in response earned him some criticism on social media.
A user wrote, "He didn't mention anything about the international agenda and the word "amicable". For a moment let's say this is not paid tweet then one question still remains. "Why was he silent till now??"
Another user wrote, "True India is supreme, but farmers suffering on roads in Delhi cold for 60 days? Support farmer protest paaji" "Kapil sir delete kardo tweet is time desh se pyaar dikhaoge to ambani ke kuttte bole jaoge is waqt kuch sachhe deshbhakto ka janam hua h jo aap jaiso ko ambani ka kutta tag kr rhe hai. Delete krdo post paaji achha nhi lgega ki aapko koi ambani ka kutta bole," added another user.
