Maharashtra is turning out to be a center of hooliganism ever since the Uddhav Thackeray led government has taken the charge of the state. Recently, a retired naval officer named 'Madan Sharma' was beaten in Mumbai allegedly by Shiv Sena workers for forwarding a cartoon mocking Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Madan Sharma, in his complaint, said he had forwarded the cartoon to his residential society's WhatsApp group. He later received a call from one Kamlesh Kadam, who asked his name and address. In the afternoon, he was called outside the building and was attacked by a group of men.The Mumbai Police on Friday arrested six people, including a shakha pramukh and one member of Shiv Sena, accused of an attack on a former Navy officer in Kondivali East. Shiv Sena's shakha pramukh Kamlesh Kadam and another party worker Sanjay Manjre are among the six arrested.
Now, film-maker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has now narrated how the Maharashtra state government used their power to silence him. Vivek is famous for his movies Who Killed Shastri?, The Tashkent Files, and many more.
Vivek narrated how the Shiv Sena used dirty tricks to silence him after he wrote against the Palghar lynching of the Sadhus and the increasing toll of Coronavirus in Maharashtra. In a series of tweet, Vivek wrote, "This is just the 1st part of the story how this inefficient govt is trying to silence CULTURAL WARRIORS like me. Imagine what they can do to hapless 66 Yr old veteran Madan Sharma. This eye is a symbol of tyranny of this government. YOU CAN NEVR SILENCE ME. To be contd. Jai Hind.
Even the Dy commissioner police was embarrassed as he respected me for my work against #UrbanNaxals but he was forced by the govt to silence me. Me & my wife stood for 2 hrs outside my building on the road while Corona was at peak as all dirty tricks were used against me.
My sin was I wrote against the Palghar lynching of Sadhus and against the Mismanagement of COVID. The government was busy using Bollywood stars as their cheerleaders and it was unacceptable to them that I criticised. The topmost police officers were used to silence me.
This is what this govt did to me:
In the month of April when Mumbai was under curfew, no one was allowed to go outside their house, even vegetables were not available, this govt SENT POLICE to my house to IMTIMIDATE and THREATEN me to shut up and not speak against the govt."
Earlier, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut lashed out at Uddhav Thackeray for an increase in terror and tyranny by its government.
