An FIR has been registered against the former SHO of police station Sultanpur Lodhi on charges of corruption. It is alleged that the said police officer had acquitted an accused by tampering with the records of police station Sultanpur Lodhi. A case has been registered against the said accused inspector Sarabjit Singh and acquitted Balwinder Singh at Sultanpur Lodhi police station. It is worth mentioning that the accused Balwinder Singh is currently in America and former Inspector Sarabjit Singh is also to be arrested by the police.
According to information, a case was registered in Sultanpur Lodhi police station in October 2018 under the Punjab Travels Professional Regulation-2014 Act against Balwinder Singh resident of Giddarpindi and Usman Bin Abdullah alias Ghani resident of Hyderabad on the complaint of Hakam Singh resident of village Shahjahanpur. There were allegations of cheating of Rs 10.50 lakh on the pretext of sending the complainant's son to America. At that time Inspector Sarabjit Singh was posted as SHO in Sultanpur Lodhi. Now Hakam Singh, while giving a statement again, accusing the station in-charge and accused Balwinder Singh, has spoken of acquittal despite solid evidence.

SSP Kapurthala handed over the investigation of the matter to DSP Sultanpur Lodhi Babbandeep Singh. In the investigation, the allegations against the former station in-charge inspector Sarabjit Singh were found to be true. In which he acquitted the accused Balwinder Singh despite having solid evidence and did not even register it in the Roznamcha.
DSP Sultanpur Lodhi handed over the report of the entire matter to the SSP, after which a case has been registered against former SHO Sarabjit Singh under 7 PC Act and Balwinder Singh under various sections. This has been confirmed by DSP Babandeep Singh.
