Days after Google search projected Kannada as the ugliest
language in India now, Facebook-owned Instagram has received a sharp criticism
from its users for hurting their religious sentiments.
In the updated versions of the Instagram stickers, a GIF showed Lord Shiva with a wine glass in his one hand and a phone in the other, which triggered the users and made them report against the social media platform.
The viral GIF appears when a user would ‘Shiva’ on the photo, video, and messaging app while uploading an Instagram story.

Taking cognizance of the matter, a Delhi resident Manish Singh lodged an FIR against the social media platform for showing Lord Shiva in an objectionable position. The complainant said that Instagram allegedly hurt the sentiments of the Hindus.
According to Manish, these stickers are provided by Instagram itself and not by any other social media user. It has been further claimed by the complainant that the GIF had been created with a mere intention to hurt religious sentiments of the Hindu community and urged the cops to file an FIR against the CEO and other officials of the social media platform.
